2018 Emmy predictions slugfest: Revivals and new shows dominate comedy races in absence of 'Veep' [VIDEO & PODCAST]
"The good news for every studio and every network is that 'Veep' is not back," announces Marcus James Dixon at the start of our discussion about Best Comedy Series at the 2018 Emmys. "Veep" is the reigning three-time winner of the top comedy prize, but it's taking the year off so it won't be eligible to four-peat. Marcus is joined by fellow Gold Derby editors Paul Sheehan, Chris Beachum, Daniel Montgomery and Joyce Eng in our latest slugfest video.

With so many new dramas clamoring for Emmy's attention, this year's Best Drama Series race is dividing Gold Derby's editors. Two recent winners are back in play -- "Game of Thrones" and "The Handmaid's Tale" -- as are last year's nominees "The Crown," "Stranger Things," "This Is Us" and "Westworld." But with "Better Call Saul" and "House of Cards" both taking the year off, which freshman series are in contention at the 2018 Emmys?

Oscars 2018 slugfest: Our editors battle over winners ('The Shape of Water') and losers ('Three Billboards')
Gold Derby's editors are still picking our jaws off the floor after Sunday's Oscars ceremony, in which Guillermo del Toro's "The Shape of Water" took down Martin McDonagh's "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri." Tom O'Neil, Paul Sheehan, Chris Beachum, Marcus James Dixon, Daniel Montgomery and Joyce Eng analyze the winners and losers and critique the show in our morning-after slugfest.
